Thank you for your interest in Lonesome Pine KnivesI grew up watching my Dad, "Pap" Harley, who started making knives in 1940. This provided the spark for Lonesome Pine Knives. I started making knives myself when I was 9 yrs.old and played around at it till about 1980, when I turned full time. With the support of my family and the aid of loyal customers, I've been able to turn a labor of love into a full time profession. Each knife is an individually handcrafted work of art, representing many hours of my very best effort. From the first hammer blow, until the Pine tree similar to the one to the right of this text is scribed on its side, I strive for absolute quality in each knife. If you treat your knife with the care and respect it deserves it will become a prized tool and valued heirloom. I have attempted to create a pleasing assemblage of curves, with full tang integral construction, without compromising function or practicality. I grind ATS 34, for all stock removal knives, and they are heat treated by Paul Boss of Alpine, California. My Damascus pieces are not standard models and I'd rather take suggestions instead of orders for the things I forge; priced only after completion Most handle material consist of burls, stag and ivories These items are not warranted against cracking or checking. Sheaths are full pouches of 8/9 oz. cowhide, hand sewn, wet formed, oiled and waxed. I offer a full range of options. I do file work, some casting and work with Engravers and Scrimshanders who are the best. I truly enjoy one of a kind pieces, swords, miniatures etc. A small deposit may be required for one of a kind pieces. All orders are shipped via UPS when possible. Send no money with your order. Master Card and Visa accepted. Upon receiving your order it will be assigned a work order number and I will notify you of its receipt and expected delivery date. Upon completion of your order I will notify you, and the balance of payment, including cost of mailing, will be due prior to shipment. Knife makers like cash. I ran about 2 yrs behind on orders until I was featured in the WALL STREET JOURNAL and that quickly ended up as 4 yrs. (With the exception of my Battle Bowie. I make batches of them several times a yr. for my hunters and military personal). My time now is spent trying to develop one of a kind Damascus patterns and turning that into a one of a kind knife. |
